Project Budget Management is a Native application built on the Force.com foundation. Its primary goal is to give project managers an alternative to tracking their projects’ financial information in spreadsheets or by other ad-hoc methods.
Project managers can get a quick view of their projects’ financial standing: how much has been allocated (delineated by your custom-defined accounting codes), how much has been spent against each budget item.
The project summary page uses Google Visualization to show percentage breakdown of budget, percent remaining, and spending over time.
Using this tool, and with all project budgets defined centrally and consistently, executives can finally get an accurate reading of project health: what projects are currently running, where are the potential overages, and more.
